Having appeared in a period of extensive discussion of issues related to a place of science in the society and optimization of forms of public science management, Breakthrough Science project became one of leading platforms used for public discussions of these topics facilitating involvement of science community in the discussion, transfer from protection of bureaucratic interests and personal ambitions to thoughtful discussion and search of consent points.

In December 2005 to January 2007 within scopes of a section over 280 large articles and about and about 3.3 thousand of news were published.
