The Museum of the Internet History
The Museum of the Internet History

How did Internet appear? Who did it found? What are the stages of its development? How does its future look like? And the main question: what did Internet give to the humankind and how should this technology develop in the future so that to make our life more comfortable and dynamic, but at the same time not less humanistic. While visiting the Museum halls and displays you will be able to find answers to these and many other questions related to the establishment and development of the Internet in the world and in Russia from the first days of its appearance.

Each hall is devoted to the certain period of Internet development in one of the spheres of infocommunication technologies. You can move about from one hall to another and feel the atmosphere of Internet's first days of existence and last days of its development. Here you can find information on the problems Internet faces today. There have been tackled the issues of the Internet-technologies development, as well as the socio-psychological aspects.

While recording the history of the home Internet-segment we were tried to collect as many resources as possible in order to more detailed even if briefly reconstruct the chronology, facts and events in appearance and development of the Net. In the Museum you will find a lot of different pieces: maps, pictures, documents and other materials which illustrate the Internet history. Even Founding Fathers of the Russian Internet-segment, who were interviewed by the Foundation members, introduce some interesting data for the Museum.

We invite to visit us everyone who is interested in the Internet history. All your comments and new pieces or data, which can help us to reconstruct more objectively the history of the global and home Internet, are welcome.
