The Foundation for Internet Development was organized by the initiative of "Relcom.BN" and "Demos-Internet" companies

The Foundation has the following objects:

• support of projects concerning Internet development;
  
  
• assistance to the development of global information networks, information infrastructure in the society, advanced information technologies;
  
  
• practical implementation of new perspective projects in telecommunication;
  
  
• support to the development of legal issues concerning the Internet;
  
  
• realization and support of R&D in telecommunication and information technologies;
  
  
• organization of symposia, conferences, seminars concerning information and technological development of the Internet.

According to the Agreement with the Russian Institute for Public Networks (RIPN), the .SU Registry development project is realized within the framework of the Foundation. The project envisages organization of the registrar institution on the former USSR territory. Based on the successful implementation of the project grants of the Foundation shall be developed

The .SU Registry Committee is formed to meet the challenges of the SU Registry development. Organization of other committees of the Foundation is planned in accordance with the Charter and Recommendations of the SU-ADM Expert Group.

The revenues of the Foundation as per results of activities in 2003 amounted to 494 thousand roubles. The Supervising Council approved ascription of funds, recorded as revenues for 2003, to support grant activities of the Foundation. In accordance with the Charter the annual financial report for 2003 had been approved as well as project-specific use of funds for support of grant activities of the Foundation in 2004.
